China Airlines (airline code CI) is a full-service carrier based at Taipei's Taoyuan airport in Taiwan. It was set up in 1959 and has a fleet of more than 50 passenger jets. In 2008 it began offering scheduled services to mainland China after a thawing of relations between the two governments.

Ownership

China Airlines was listed as a private company on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 1993. China Airlines is entirely separate from Air China, which is majority-owned by the Peoples' Republic of China. 

Route Network

China Airlines has an extensive network of routes throughout Asia among the countries it flies to. It also offers many non-stop long-haul services including Amsterdam and Frankfurt. It is planned that the carrier will join the Skyteam alliance. For a full list of destinations, click here.
