Riccardo68 flew Alitalia Economy, on a B767-300ER (23/12/2011 11:36)

It was not a flight it was a nightmare.

I choose Alitalia because is the only no-stop flight Rome-Miami but never again!

Very old aircraft (B767-400 they call it 764). Very bad seats, no space for legs, books and everything, no service at all (lunch after one hour and goodbye) very noisy cabin (expecially for the underground volume of the shared tv) no personal tv, very bad choice of movies.

Open bar during flight: cold water and cold Pepsi light (what have we done so bad.....')

Alitalia Airline:

I booked the tickets for my wife and I choosed aisle seats and I called them to make sure that this was the case. My wife had medical condition. She had one of her spine bone broken and she showed it to the manager because she was the surprised that she never get an aisle seat for her 27 hour flight. I am going to make sure to write a review and comment using all the reviews website about what alitalia airline did to my wife and I will never recommend this airline to anybody.

Definately thousend time much better now than before, absolutely incredible good food, the very best of Italian style cuisine and service, I've been travelling in business/magnifica class before and now, and I need to congratulated with the new management as they have been issue a deep improuvement regarding customer service on board as well as the quality of the service and products offered.

In the past I was definately decided not to continue fliyng no longer with Alitalia, but after give to them anouther opportunity after the management is been changed, I'm proud now to be Italian and to flight with Alitalia.

Good job and wishing you all the best business for the future.

PhillDanze flew Alitalia Economy (short haul), on a Bombardier CRJ900 (14/09/2010 02:20)

A shuttle bus was used to transfer passengers to and from the aircraft at both PMO and NAP airports - quite crowded. Food was very basic, just a small packet of biscuits. Inflight magazine written in Italian witn English translations to most articles. Flight advised as cancelled on notice boards however ended up just being delayed by 2 hrs; reason given was crew unavailable at original departure time.

PhillDanze flew Alitalia Economy (short haul), on a MD-82 (14/09/2010 02:12)

A shuttle bus was used to transfer passengers to and from the aircraft at both FCO and PMO airports - quite crowded and the planes were parked some distance from the terminal. Food was very basic, just a small packet of biscuits. Inflight magazine written in Italian witn English translations to most articles. Baggage at PMO airport took about 45mins to come out, almost as long as the flight itself.

straniero flew Alitalia Magnifica (Business), on a B777-200ER (12/05/2010 10:01)

Given all the bad feedback that you normally hear about Alitalia, I faced this flight a bit skeptical, but I admit being pleasantly surprised by this flight from Buenos Aires to Rome Fiumicino. Boarding was quite fast, because as a business traveler you avoid the long boarding queue and the business class is right at the beginning of the place. The seat was comfortable, very different from the standard economic class seats on every plane, even though not the best (no 180° recline). Much space for the legs, however, and about 50° recline (my guess). I was given pillow, cover, night mask before sleeping and that helped a lot. The crew was very attentive, ready to help and we also had the time for a chat. What surprised me more, however, was the dinner. A well cooked pasta! unbelievalbe (my parents are italians, though I never went to Italy before, so I think I know how to cook a good dish of pasta). The chicken was quite good, too. Finally, we landed in time in Rome.

Only remark is about flight entertainment, it was quite below standard (however, I spent my time chatting and sleeping, so nothing too bad).

camholgate flew Alitalia Economy (short haul), on a A320 (25/02/2010 14:25)

Flew FCO-LHR on 20/02/2010. After flying LIN-FCO on an Air One A320, owned by Alitalia, I was hoping for a similar aircraft on this route. When we reached the gate, I was delighted to find that the aircraft to LHR was indeed another Air One A320, and after the experience I experienced with Air One on the LIN-FCO, this certainly lived up to standard again. The aircraft was once again new, clean, lovely leather inside, the seats just comfort at its best and i cannot fault anything with Air One, i experienced a much better service with them, and when booking with Alitalia again, I would certainly be hopeful that i receive and air one aircraft, not a shabby, run down awful Alitalia one.

camholgate flew Alitalia Economy (short haul), on a A320 (25/02/2010 14:19)

Flew LIN-FCO on 20/02/2010. After experiencing the poor service on the way out, i was somewhat not looking forward to the journey to FCO. As we proceeded to the gate, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the aircraft from LIN-FCO was an Air One A320, this being after Alitalia took over Air One. The aircraft was new, therefore extremely clean on the inside, lovely leather seats with each seat having its own PTV. Legroom was fantastic for an A320, the seats were fantastically comfy and the plane smelt new. Boarding was quick and fast, and the onboard service was quick and efficient. When i reached FCO, I knew a return journey to LHR would be more liked if the aircraft was an Air One A320.

camholgate flew Alitalia Economy (short haul), on a A319 (25/02/2010 14:12)

Flew LHR-LIN on 13/2/2010, first flight with Alitalia so high expectations. Boarding was delayed due to the late arrival of the inbound flight. The cabin was very shabby, the aircraft ruined inside and the seats very uncomfortable. Service was extremely slow, took an age for the drinks trolley to come round. IFE was awful, no headphones so we were unable to listen to the IFE. Overall, a very poor experience, aircraft falling apart in the inside and I wouldn't recommend flying Alitalia.

businessclassvoyageur flew Alitalia Economy (04/01/2010 00:07)

I was an Alitalia passenger many times. Economy class The seating was bad, not enough space and the food miserable. If you the airline does not want to pay for it, they should simply not serve the sandwitches they serve. Simply discusting. They should try hard but at least the cabin crew is not always so bad.

taraforever flew Alitalia Economy, on a B777-200ER (05/10/2009 11:58)

I would avoid flying Alitalia if at all possible. We flew from JFK to Rome and from Milan to JFK. Both B777s were too warm throughout the flights, with no individual air vents (something I have not seen before).

We were packed in like sardines, nine across, and the front-to-back space was minimal. In both directions, the passengers in front of us kept their seats fully back for most of the flight. When my husband on the Rome flight politely asked the woman in front of him if she would move her seat up an inch so that he could move his knees, she refused.

At meal time, he asked the flight attendant to request she put her seat up, which she did reluctantly only for the duration of the meal. We are both average sized people. I have no idea how bigger or heavier people could survive an eight hour flight like this.

We flew an Aer Lingus Airbus last year with eight across that seemed positively luxury class compared to this.

On the flight to Rome (609), neither of us had working audio or video. Although both video and audio worked on the return flight (604), the tiny space made viewing uncomfortable and I gave up.
